Vlasta

Vlasta is 44 years old. She is a teacher of music and physical education, and she plays the organ.

Vlasta envisions living in a country where ordinary problems can be quickly resolved. ‘It would be a country where everyday issues function smoothly. For instance, if you report a common problem like having trash in front of your house, it would be promptly addressed. Life would be much simpler. Additionally, I would like to see us more interconnected, helping each other as we used to in the past. I remember a time when we could efficiently resolve issues that bothered us.’

She appreciates the positive aspects of Serbia, particularly its protected and somewhat isolated lifestyle. ‘I love Serbia’s landscapes. In a way, I appreciate the isolation from the difficulties occurring in the world, which we only see on the news. It feels as if we are shielded here, in a sort of bubble. People have a different way of thinking, and that suits us. I won’t delve into the economic aspects of our country, as it raises the question of whether money truly brings happiness. While many of us may not earn as much as we’d like, it poses the question of whether more money would make us happier than all the other things that surround us.’

Vlasta believes that the lack of information is a concern in Serbia. ‘At times, people are not adequately informed. Access to real information about daily life is crucial.’

Vlasta is one of the few individuals in Serbia who can play the organ. She possesses other unique characteristics as well because she does not conform. Instead, she strives to be herself and follow her own path.
